On Thursday, IT students traveled to MSU to participate in Tech Mania. This is an annual event hosted by MSU's Cyber Education Department. Students participated in competitive events in cable making, digital forensics, decoding data, wifi hunting, and digital analysis. Great work!
Friday, Electrical students competed in the Regional Skills USA Electrical Contest. Ryder Rives placed third with Maddox Cope taking sixth overall! Jaden Cannon will compete in Electrical 1 later this semester for state competition. Great work to all! Thank you to West Kentucky AGC and IBEW Local 816 for their sponsorship and support of the event!
Friday, MCTC hosted the Regional Skills USA Carpentry Contest in our newly renovated classrooms! Great job to all involved, and many thanks to the teachers and judges who worked to prepare the next generation of the construction industry!

Today MCHS students interested in pursuing a career in education attended the Regional Educators Rising Conference at Murray State University, where they participated in sessions covering a variety of career opportunities & skills needed in the education field. We're excited to see so many future educators!
FBLA members enjoyed their educational experience at the Kentucky Derby Museum and Churchill Downs, where they explored career paths in the thoroughbred industry. The day included an in-depth look into the business operations behind horse racing, a guided tour of the historic venue, and the chance to witness live racing. This hands-on experience highlighted the diverse career opportunities within the industry, inspiring students to think about the intersection of business and sports management. Mission River was today's race winner, and the horse's jockey donned our school colors!

Tonight, Marshall CTE pathways hosted Fall Advisory Council meetings with community partners, students, and parents in their respective areas to guide program direction, gain industry partner feedback, and generate ideas for elevating student experiences in our CTE programs. A meal was provided by our Culinary Arts program as well. Thank you to our industry partners, parents, and students who serve on these councils!

MCTC construction project is not only rolling along, but it’s also being used to educate students through the process! Pinnacle Construction shared with Murray State Engineering students and Marshall County Engineering students various aspects of engineering that goes along with commercial construction projects. We’re so excited to see the progress each week!
We would like to wish a VERY HAPPY Custodian’s Day to our very own Dawn Espinosa! She is a wonderful example to our MCTC students of what a dedicated and thoughtful employee should be, and MCTC wouldn’t be the same without her! This past week, MSU welcomed over 200 student leaders from 10 regional middle and high schools to campus for the Student Leadership Summit, and Marshall County CTE was in full force! HOSA, Skills USA, FBLA, FFA, and other MC CTSO students represented their clubs and organizations well. Students heard a keynote speaker and participated in break out sessions throughout the day for leadership building exercises. Great work to all involved!
Thursday MCHS Media Arts students participated in the Murray State High School Media Workshop. Marshall Media Arts won a total of 8 awards for their work over the past year. The awards include 3 first place awards and Best Overall News Program for "The Morning Marshal" school news.
The workshop consisted of breakup sessions with MSU Professors and Media Professionals. The guest speaker was Renae Shaw, public affairs director/journalist for KET.

AUTHENTIC project based learning and pathway collaboration at its finest!
MCTC has worked with the Benton Parnership for the last six years to staff and put on the annual Farm to Fork Dinner to benefit student scholarships and positive change in our local community. Today, the ribbon was cut on the brand new Benton Farm to Fork Pavilion that will be open for local vendors to sell their locally raised produce and handmade items. The pavilion will be open for vendors on Saturdays from May-October from 7:30-12:30, and is located next to Benton Water.
The Benton Partnership also provides scholarships to MCTC students involved in the Farm to Fork dinner representing Agriculture/FFA, Culinary/FCCLA, and Media Arts programs for the diversified roles they play in sponsoring and helping to make the dinner possible. We are thankful for this continued community connection and look forward to seeing you at the pavilion this summer!
