Yesterday was a FANTASTIC day at MCTC!
We hosted all six elementary school third graders for the first STEAM day. MCTC students worked to present and showcase science and technology utilized in all Career and Technical Education pathways to our county's third graders. We are so grateful for the opportunity for our students to showcase their passions to the next generations of students, and for our brand new space to host the event in! MCTC students also worked to package and distribute lunches.
Third graders also were able to watch the MCHS production of Tinkerbell- you may see some familiar CTE faces working behind the scenes of that production as well! Thank you to all who were involved in making the day a success! As always, we're proud to be part of this community!

We are so thankful for our partnership opportunity with Wacker Chemical and their willingness to allow our students to tour! Earlier this month, students in related pathways were able to learn more about jobs in mechanical and electrical maintenance, engineering, logistics, and much more! Thank you for giving our students an opportunity to see our pathways in action with professionals at Wacker Chemical!

Last week, 11 students in Mrs. Forsythe's Microsoft Office Specialist class earned their Microsoft Office Word Certification. This certification is one of three certifications that these students will earn to become career ready during the class! Congratulations to these students!

Students in the Collision Repair pathway had the opportunity to hear a presentation from Mr. Richard Hall with Nashville Auto Diesel College and the opportunities they have to offer. Thanks again to NADC!

MCTC had a great day at MSU's Construction Career Day, sponsored by AGC of Western Kentucky! Students were able to network and chat with construction businesses, apprenticeships, post secondary education programs, and military personnel! We enjoyed simulators, gaining knowledge of next steps for career pursuits, and networking with individuals already working in trades. Thanks for a great day!

Lights, camera, action! 📸🎥 Students in Mr. Chad Darnall's Media Arts & Cinematography program attended a media workshop at Murray State today! The day brought the opportunity for networking and to get a better look at what all goes on behind the scenes!

HVAC, anyone?! Mr. Jarvis's Ag Mechanics students have been working hard to install new cooling components into the Ag Department's research greenhouse! We can't wait to see it up and running!

Foundational skills pave the road to success! Mr. Burkeen’s Electrical Technology students completed a conduit bending test to show off the hands-on skills they’ve been building in class. Great work!

Engineering is in the building! We're so excited to have Mr. Hayden and students in MCTC, and we can't wait to see the new Makerspace setup as we progress in renovations. In this photo, Mr. Hayden is working with students to draft a 3D print model. More to come!

Mr. Ross and students have been working hard to get our TV announcement boards up and rolling for the school year! These IT classes do a great job of collaborating with teachers and students to organize and share information regarding upcoming events and to highlight MCTC and MCHS CTE programs.

We are pleased to honor our students who earned health science certifications with a pinning ceremony last night. Congratulations to all students who achieved this accomplishment!

12 students successfully tested on 5/7 and are now State Registered Nurse Aides. Congratulations to all that have worked towards and achieved this milestone!
